ABOUT THE RACE

Friends of Granger Paths advocates for the development of community-wide pedestrian pathways. Educate the public about the health, community building, and environmental benefits of these amenities. The Granger Paths 5K Run and 1 mile community fun walk/run is a benefit to raise awareness and funding for recreational public paths throughout Granger. These paths will allow the public to safely walk, run, and bike throughout their community. They will connect public facilities such as schools, the library, ball fields, and parks to allow for a more intimate connection between neighborhoods.

Course

The course for the 5K will begin and finish at the Harris Township Library, 51446 Elm Rd., Granger, IN 46530. It is a flat and fast course through the streets of Granger. Click on the button below for the 5K course layout.

The 1 Mile Community Fun Run/Walk will take place along the path on Elm Road from the Library to Adams Road and back.

Cost

5K Race
$20.00 per participant if pre-registered by May 18, 2010 for Competitive Runner (IPICO RFID tag timing)*
$25.00 per participant for late registration after May 18th, 2010 for Competitive Runner (IPICO RFID tag timing)*
  *Tags will be collected at the finish line. Participants will be charged a $20.00 replacement fee for any lost or non-returned timing tags
1 Mile Community Fun Run/Walk
$5.00 per participant or $10.00 per family (no limit on family members) if registered on-line or the day of the race.

ATTENDEES

More than 350 people comprised of corporate sponsors, employees and their families, civic and community organizations, individual supporters, staff and volunteers. If you are a competitive runner or just out for exercise and enjoyment, this is the race for you!

TIMING

Race Results will be provided by Rock Solid Results with IPICO RFID tag timing for 5K Competitive Runners only. Official timing will not be given to 1 Mile Racers/Walkers. Times will be posted on our website during the week after the race.

 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place – Hand made custom awards by Elkhart Area Career Center
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Age Group/Male & Female medals
First 350 participants - Guaranteed custom short sleeve moisture-wicking t-shirt and goody bag filled with awesome gifts filled with items donated by area merchants
Finisher ribbons to all who cross the finish line
Red Rose for each female finisher
1 Mile Community Fun Run/Walk participates

Will receive an official bib number

After the race, we will have drawings with several awesome gifts immediately after the race. (you must be present to win) EVERY PARTICIPATE IS ELGIABLE

Food & Drink provided by Larabar, Martin's Supermarket & Spencer's Quality Water

Here’s all you have to do when you arrive:

  • If you have not registered, we have late registration available. (an increase of $5.00 will apply for 5K participates ONLY). One Mile participates will not be charged a late fee.
  • If you are pre-register, you need to pick up your race packet which includes a t-shirt, bib number and goody bag which includes awesome gifts donated by area merchants. (5K participates ONLY). One mile participates will need to pick up your bib number.
  • Come early and enjoy the many tables and displays that will be set up by area merchants.
  • After the race, stick around because we will drawings for great prizes that have been donated by area merchants. (you must be present to win)
